Just updated two pictures i took from yesterday's fireworks festival! i took 4 more but they were'nt good so i decided not to post them.. Wish i had brought a proper camera there =(
But i think team france did a good job the fireworks were breath taking and all... you get this arrays of many fireworks blowing up one after another and the result is this big arrangement of lights and colours. Just beautiful...
The only draw back was the place was so freaking crowded everyone was squeezing to get into the mrt and all... i hate situations like those... people pushing and shoving. the ugly side of singaporeans can be seen so clearly...
Well exams are coming real soon like 2 weeks more or something! i think its time i got down to some serious studying.. stress time! =)
Oh yeah i came across this book called Final Notes From a Great Island: A Farewell Tour Of Singaporean by Neil Humphreys.
Here's a synopsis of the book:
After spending the best 10 years of his life in Singapore, British writer Neil Humphreys has decided to move to the land Down Under because he really wants to spend time living among the world's most poisonous snakes and roo poo. But he doesn't want to leave the island he fell in love with a decade ago without taking one final, kaypoh look around the place. Embarking on a valedictory tour from his Toa Payoh home, Humphreys vows to explore Singapore as he did when he first arrived - on foot and unaware - taking in his favourite places, the ulu haunts, the green spots, the clean parts and the dirty bits, and the nation's underbelly and its belly dancers. From Sentosa to Sembawang, Choa Chu Kang to Changi, St John's Island to Johor (he got a bit carried away), Humphreys treks, cycles and even hitchhikes his way across this great island, encountering murderous dogs, dead cats, wild crocodiles, mad cyclists, terrifying transvestites, persistent prostitutes and half-naked ice cream vendors. Honest, insightful and funny, this book is a warm, uplifting tribute to Singapore and every Singaporean (and tourist, employment pass holder and permanent resident for that matter) should read it.
well as i was waiting for some people yesterday, i read abit of the book and i found it really interesting yeap. Read it for a few good laughs about the place we call home! =)
I wont say i understand what you're feeling, but i kinda know what you're going thru. Yepp and i'll always be a call away...
